Families,

As you know, there are many changes ahead in our school community as we respond to growing enrolment. Two new schools are opening in Bedford this fall, and as a result, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) announced a number of grade reconfigurations for September.

To ensure a smooth transition, our school has been granted a ‘variance day’ – a day to allow staff to pack up their classrooms in preparation for these changes.

As such, there will be no classes for students in grades primary to six at Kingswood Elementary on Wednesday, June 28th. Pre-primary classes at Kearney Lake will be open on that day.

As a reminder, there are no classes for Pre-Primary through Grade 12 on Thursday, June 29 (Assessment and Evaluation Day). Friday, June 30 is the last day of school for students.

Finally, if your child is attending one of the new West Bedford schools in September, please note that the first day of school will be on Friday, September 8. All other HRCE schools open to students on Thursday, September 7.
